Patent Matchmaker
Selling Your Patents?  We Help You Find the RIGHT Match.
Patent Owners:  If you want to make sure you obtain the highest value from your patent monetization efforts, you've come to the right place.

              The Problem
Today, corporations and individuals seeking to monetize their patents for the first time find it difficult to understand the process.  The patent monetization market has been in existence only for a few years and people with the necessary experience and networks to successfully market your patent rights are few and far between.  Put simply, far more patent owners wish to sell their patents then people or companies are available to market and buy them.  And, even if you are fortunate to receive an offer for your patents, how do you know whether you should accept it given that there is currently no objective way to determine what your patent rights are worth?

                 The Solution
Given the emerging nature of the patent monetization market, patent owners--both corporations and individuals alike--often find that they require someone to assist them in identifying potential buyers and to help ensure that any offers made represent the highest value obtainable for their patent rights today.  The Patent Matchmaker Team provides patent owners with the necessary expertise to facilitate successful monetization of their patent patent rights.  And, unlike patent brokers and auction houses, Patent Matchmaker's sole obligation is to ensure that you, the corporate or individual patent owner, obtains the most out of your patent right possible in today's market.

                                                        Our Process
Patent Matchmaker accepts both corporate and individual patent owners as clients.  Typically, patent rights are more readily monetizable when in the form of an issued patent(s).  In certain cases, however, we will accept clients possessing only pending patent applications.
While we tailor our patent monetization services according to the needs of each client, the general process works as follows.
Patent Matchmaker reviews your patents for potential monetization within its worldwide network of patent buyers that includes:
  • Patent Brokers
  • Corporations
  • Institutional and Private Investors
  • Patent Aggregators
If we determine in this preliminary review that your patents are possible candidates for placement into our worldwide patent monetization network, you can become a Patent Matchmaker client.  You and Patent Matchmaker will then enter into an agreement regarding our arrangement to assist you in finding a buyer for your patent rights and at this time you may also be asked to provide us with a reasonable fee for representation of your interests in the patent monetization process.
After you become a Patent Matchmaker client, we will conduct a detailed review of your patent rights, including a market study and preliminary valuation.  If, after this detailed review, we determine that your patent rights are likely candidates for disposition within our worldwide patent monetization network, we will provide you with a marketing plan.  Upon your approval, we will present your patents for sale through the appropriate patent monetization channels.
Should someone in our worldwide network make an offer for your patent rights, Patent Matchmaker will provide you with non-legal counsel and advice throughout the patent monetization process--from offer through completion of the sale or other form of disposition e.g., licensing or trade.  You should note that, although Patent Matchmaker was founded by a highly experienced intellectual property attorney, we do not provide patent owners with legal advice.  Patent Matchmaker's role in the patent monetization process is to provide corporate and individual patent owners with introductions to potential buyers of their patent rights and to provide business counsel to facilitate success monetization.  If you find that you need legal advice during the patent monetization process, Patent Matchmaker can provide you with referrals to appropriate legal counsel.
